To promote, facilitate, support or undertake any activity that will enhance the quality of life in the Fernwood Community.
To foster community control of all development within the areas, specifically all aspects of re-development.
To enter into contracts and agreements with all levels of government to improve the well-being of the community.
To ensure that the community residents have a determining voice, by democratic process, on all public projects within the neighbourhood.
To establish and operate any facilities that will enable the society to carry out its objectives.
To acquire and take by purchase, donation, device, lease, or otherwise, real and personal property and to sell, exhange, lease, let, improve and develop the same and to take any gift of real or personal property, whether subject to any special trust or not for any one or more of the objects of the Society.
Any person who lives, works, volunteers, or studies within the boundaries of Quadra, Fort, Shelbourne, and Hillside and pays the annual membership fee ($5.00) can be a member of the Fernwood Community Association (FCA).
Membership entitles you to vote at general meetings, to elect board members and to vote at committee meetings. Paying your annual membership fee also helps support the FCA in running the building and providing community services.
